Learn to Meditate

At the Vancouver Shambhala Meditation Centre, we practice and teach mindfulness-awareness meditation, as it has been taught for over 2500 years.

As part of our Wednesday Night Open House, we offer instruction in mindfulness-awareness meditation from authorized instructors in the meditation traditions of Shambhala Buddhism.

Sessions start at 7 pm, and include a brief talk about meditation practice, instruction in sitting meditation and walking meditation, suggestions for setting up an ongoing meditation practice, and opportunities for questions and discussion.

At 8 pm, our group joins the Open House program for tea and cookies.  You are invited to stay for the Open House dharma talk and discussion from 8:15 to 9 pm.

Typically 15-25 people attend a Learn to Meditate evening.  You are welcome to return anytime for a refresher.

Everybody welcome. No experience or materials necessary.  There is no charge, although donations are always appreciated.
