Meditation in Everyday Life
with Shastri John Fox & Jennifer Rodrigues
By making a deep connection to the present moment and understanding our mind through the practice of meditation, we learn to make friends with ourselves.
While meditation has many benefits, establishing a consistent personal practice can be extremely challenging for both new and experienced meditators alike.
Meditation in Everyday Life, the first course in The Way of Shambhala series, is open to everyone and introduces students to a deeper experience of peaceful abiding as the foundation for their path, offering practical suggestions for developing and sustaining a meditation practice at home. We will explore through talks, discussion groups and individual interviews the connection between mindfulness and physical and emotional health, as well as beginning to see the relationship between meditation, daily life, and creating enlightened society. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the challenges students face in their individual meditation practice.
The Way of Shambhala is a series of classes designed to awaken us to the potential of our lives. It teaches us to live meaningfully with joy; to deepen our intelligence and compassion, and to learn to unify the practical and the profound. Daily life becomes an opportunity to further cultivate these qualities.
There is no prerequisite for this course: OPEN TO ALL
NOTE: Way of Shambhala "Everyday Life" classes are usually offered over five tow-hour evening classes. As this isn't always convenient for some people, this course has been compressed into two full days on one weekend.
