The contentment, joy, fearlessness and wisdom of the Way of Shambhala culminates in unconditional confidence. This weekend, led by senior teacher Acharya Susan Chapman, introduces the teachings of enlightened leadership.

With the great problems now facing human society, it seems increasingly important to find simple ways to bring compassionate and strong leadership to the world, even in small ways. This weekend emphasizes genuine confidence and steadfastness in facing the world's challenges.

Due to renovations of our new centre taking longer than expected, Acharya Chapman will now be offering the Rigden Weekend September 7-9, 2018.

Pre-Rigden Salons

In order to prepare and build a bridge between now and September, we are delighted to announce two salons, which will be led by senior teachers (Shastris) in the community. During these salons, participants will have a chance to learn about the Rigden weekend’s importance on the Shambhala path, the Rigden weekend vow, the meaning and role of the Sakyong in Shambhala, and the application of these profound teachings in everyday life. Teachings from the Sakyong’s new book “The Lost Art of Good Conversation” will also be part of the salons.

Since we are unsure when the new centre will be ready, both salons will have a live-streaming link for those of you living outside of Vancouver (using Zoom, which is an easy-to-use online platform for social engagement and online learning). Please mark your calendars for:

June 10th: 10-11.30
August 12th: 10-11.30

We invite you to consider both of these salons as essential preparation for the Rigden weekend. If you are unable to join one salon, we ask you to commit to viewing the recording at a later time of your convenience and have a dialogue with one of the senior teachers.
