Ron Grenberg  will be leading the Sadhana practice every second week, after sitting at Wednesday Open House. Sitting starts at 7pm. The Sadhana will begin after the tea break, about 8:20pm and conclude before 9.

The Sadhana of Mahamudra was written by the founder of Shambhala International in a retreat cave in Bhutan. It brings together two streams of teachings in which the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche had trained in Tibet. Written originally in Tibetan, and translated into English by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche with his student, Künga Dawa (Richard Arthure), it was given to our sangha for practicing at our centres by anyone inspired to do so. This practice is meant for our particular time as a means of overcoming the obstacles of spiritual materialism in our practice, our lives and the world. Trungpa Rinpoche describes spiritual materialism as the use of spirituality to reinforce rather than undercut ego's desire to manipulate one's world and experience for personal gain: to use spiritual practice as just another means of seeking pleasure and avoiding pain, rather than as a means of fearlessly embracing the essential groundlessness of mind and phenomena.

Traditionally, this practice is done on the new and full moons of each month.
