Our minds and bodies are intrinsically trustworthy. Through the practice of meditation we can develop trust in this truth and establish a more open and resilient connection to all aspects of our daily lives.

There is no prerequisite for this course: OPEN TO ALL

Meditation in Everyday Life, (MIEL) the first course in The Way of Shambhala series introduces participants to a deeper experience of mindfulness awareness meditation as the foundation for all aspects of daily life, spirtual and secular. It provides practical support for developing and sustaining a meditation practice at home. We will explore through talks, discussion groups and individual interviews the connection between mindfulness and physical and emotional health, as well as beginning to see the relationship between meditation, daily life, and creating enlightened society. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the challenges students face in their individual meditation practice.

This course begins with a morning and afternoon session on Saturday June 24 (9am-4pm), followed by three Thursday evening classes (7-9 pm) on June 29, July 6 and July 13.

The Way of Shambhala is a series of classes designed to awaken us to the potential of our lives. It teaches us to live meaningfully with joy; to deepen our intelligence and compassion, and to learn to unify the practical and the profound. Daily life becomes an opportunity to further cultivate these qualities.
