    Room: Online using Zoom

All are welcome. Shambhala Open House is an excellent and reliable way to enter into the practice of mindfulness/awareness meditation, encounter the fundamentals of Shambhala Buddhism and begin to build a regular practice. Newcomers are always welcome, and many people in our community make Open House a regular part of their lives.

(Open House is every Wednesday except for rare holidays.)

During the pandemic, please join our Open House program using Zoom.

The evening begins at 7:00 pm with virtual sitting meditation, with one or two staff members in the Main Meditation Hall, and everyone else online using Zoom. (You are welcome to arrive late or leave early for this meditation period.)

Also at 7:00pm, a Zoom "breakout room" offers meditation instruction for first-time meditators and people who would like a refresher. After meditation instruction, this group joins the main Zoom group in the virtual Main Meditation Hall.

At 8 pm, there are announcements, then a social period. Please get a cup of tea, come back to Zoom and join us all for casual conversation.

At 8:20 there is a dharma talk and discussion.  The evening concludes about 9 pm.

There is no fee for Open House, though donations are appreciated. There is also no need to register.  Everything you need is provided; just come as you are.

Our Zoom meeting begins a few minutes before 7 pm on Wednesday. Meditate at home with us (with your camera on or off) until 8 pm. At 8 pm there are announcements. We will take the laptop into the kitchen where, all going well, you can join in the conversation.  We encourage you to have a cup of tea with us, and maybe even a cookie or two. About 8:20, we'll take the laptop (with our Zoom participants) back into the main meditation hall for the talk and discussion.

Donations are appreciated, especially during these uncertain times when we have had to cancel most of our revenue-generating programs
